Call for Submissions: Poetry Based on an Image | Due July 31 - (Expired)

Calls for Submissions For Writers

Rattle Magazine poses a monthly challenge to poets to write a poem based on a specific piece of visual art. They call it the Ekphrastic Challenge.

Rattle chooses two winners each month to receive online publication and $50. The piece of art for June is “No Name #1” by Ryan Schaufler. You can view the image and more details about the challenge at Ekphrastic Challenge | Rattle: Poetry.

(The image in this post is not “No Name #1.”)

I do not knowingly announce submission calls by publishers who do not fulfill their contractual obligations. However, readers are responsible for conducting their own due diligence when submitting work and negotiating contracts.

Browse more submission calls or tips for writers. Other than the occasional charity anthology, any calls I post are paying.

And if you’d like to support this blog, you can buy me a (metaphorical) coffee.
